We are committed to making disciples by educating and equipping students in biblical foundations, Christian disciplines, and the development of spiritual gifts in order to prepare them for witness and service on the campus, in the local church, in the marketplace, and in world missions.

College students who come through the ministry of AACF are educated and equipped for witness and service to wherever God leads them. Our aim is to give them knowledge and experience to be salt and light (Matthew 5:13-16) to the communities where God has placed them and beyond. We do this by giving students opportunities to lead and serve. We deeply value student leadership and their initiative to creatively contextualize ministry on their campus. We give them a framework for campus ministry and they are encouraged to make it their own.

Our ministry specializes in reaching Asian Americans on the college campus. Our fellowships are open to all. You don’t have to be Asian, American, or Christian to join our fellowship. We extend a humble invitation to any student who is searching for forgiveness and the grace of Jesus Christ.

Asian American Christian Fellowship (AACF) is part of the larger Japanese Evangelical Missionary Society (JEMS), which was founded with the mission to spread the gospel to non-believers. AACF was specifically created to extend this mission to the collegiate community, where students are in a unique and formative stage of life. With chapters established at universities all across the West Coast, AACF has been able to share the gospel on campuses by hosting general meetings, bible studies, and other supplementary ministries designed to strengthen believers in their faith.

Why do we emphasize being a missions organization? Missions are often associated with going abroad, but we believe missionary work also includes reaching out to college students right here in the United States. Our purpose on campus is to spread the gospel, and we see this as a vital form of missions work. Our definition of missions goes beyond just trips; it's about being present where God has placed us, building relationships, and sharing the good news with those around us.

Emphasizing our AACF mission again, we are focused on reaching students on campus, and the way we do that is through our large group gatherings, fellowship, and deeper engagement. We host Bible studies, invite pastors to speak, and create opportunities for students to grow in their faith and knowledge of God. As a ministry, we are called to reach into the college campus with the gospel, fulfilling the great commission by being active in the lives of young adults.

Asian American Christian Fellowship (AACF) believes:

• The Bible is God’s Word, written by men uniquely inspired by the Holy Spirit, and it stands as the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

• In One God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

• In Jesus Christ, the world’s only Savior; in His pre-existence, virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death, burial, bodily resurrection, and promised return.

• In the Holy Spirit as a Person, who indwells and empowers believers, convicts the unsaved, and presents the claims of Christ.

• That humanity, in its sinfulness, is lost and can only be redeemed through the death and shed blood of Christ on the cross, by the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit.

• In the resurrection of the dead, leading to eternal life for believers and eternal condemnation for unbelievers.

• That the Church, the Body of Christ, is comprised of all who have accepted the redemption provided by Christ.

JEMS is the parent organization behind AACF. The Japanese Evangelical Missionary Society (JEMS) began its campus work in the Fall of 1973 at Cal State Los Angeles. It was called the JEMS Campus Bible Study. By 1977, the name Asian American Christian Fellowship came into being for the group at Cal State Long Beach. From a small beginning, this ministry has grown to involve several thousand students on a number of campuses across the West Coast.
